GDC Technology Ltd., a major provider of theater management solutions, used CineAsia 2016 to unveil its futuristic immersive lobby experience. The GDC Cinema Lobby Experience comprises a DTS:X Pod to demonstrate immersive sound using headphones and a GDC Virtual Reality Ride featuring DTS:X immersive audio and Sweetech motion technology. The company now plans to extend its reach outside the theater booth to the lobby.
In addition to the GDC Cinema Lobby Experience zone, the company showcased the newly released, award-winning GDC Immersive Sound Solution, comprised of a GDC SX-4000 Standalone IMB and XSP-1000 cinema processor.
The TMS-2000 Theatre Management System, released two years ago, has now reached a significant milestone: it is in use in 20K screens worldwide. It now offers over 50 new features and improvements including:
- Template System – automatic generation of show playlist based on POS show title, show times and screen’s capability
- Automated Pre-Show – a template to insert advertisement and trailer automatically according to given rules
- Automatic KDM Ingestion – via USB key
