In the US, PC shipments totaled 11.8 million units in the first quarter of 2018, a 2.9% decrease from the first quarter of 2017, according to Gartner. Dell moved into the number-one position in the US based on shipments, as its market share increased to 29.1%. HP came second with a total market share of 28.4%, though its shipments declined 4.8%.
