Foxconn has set up a new company, in Taiwan, called LinkOOH, to develop augmented reality-based advertising for out of home applications. The company said at an event in Taipei’s main station that it has bought bought 200 55″ UltraHD Sharp displays to provide experiences in the station. At the event, EVP Lu Fang-Ming showed a display of himself merged with computer-generated graphics.
The company will target other public places such as musems, exhibition centres, airports and department stores.
