TotalTaipei.com reports that Advantech and Carrefour are working in Taiwan to develop “Taiwan’s first intelligent retail store”. As well as supporting omnichannel operation, the system, based on Advantech’s cloud-based UShop+, will send instant targeted advertisements as well as offering an interactive product catalogue. It will also control inventory and analyse customer flow. The companies will work with Intel.
The companies want to integrate IoT technology with mobile apps. If the project goes well, Carrefour plans to roll the system out globally, according to the report.
