Posiflex Technology has announced a new series of point-of-sale (POS) terminals designed for retail and hospitality businesses. The ZT series aims to provide smoother operations and enhanced customer experiences through innovative hardware design and robust performance.
The company claims its clamshell form factor sets the ZT series apart with its unique opening mechanism not seen before in POS terminals. This allows easy access inside for maintenance while concealing ports and cables to prevent clutter. Die-cast aluminum construction and fanless operation ensure ruggedness and reliability. IP44 rating protects against dust and spills.
Powered by Intel Tiger Lake or Elkhart Lake CPUs, the 15” and 15.6” touchscreen models promise speedy operation. Hidden I/O ports prevent connections to unauthorized devices for data security. Flexible mounting options accommodate diverse environments. Extensive connectivity includes optional 24V PoweredUSB. Add-on options such as fingerprint sensors, MSRs, and RFID readers can expand functionality. An internal scanner monitor attachment enhances capabilities further.
According to Posiflex, the goal was to redefine the conventional POS terminal with a more customer-friendly, intelligent design. While minimizing downtime and costs, the ZT series aims to create smoother store operations and better customer experiences. The terminals will be available globally through Posiflex’s distribution partners. Pricing has yet to be announced.
