Razer’s new Blade 15 is the first notebook to feature a 15.6″ 2560 x 1440 (16:9) OLED display with 240Hz refresh rate. Previously, the firm had offered 60Hz UltraHD OLEDs and higher refresh rate LCDs. Chromaticity coverage is 100% of DCI-P3 and luminance is 400 cd/m². The notebook costs $3,499 (which seemed high to me, but is not a big premium above other models from the firm.
The device is said to be ‘a few months away from shipping’ and a number of sources of the news suggest Q4 is likely.
What We Think
I hope someone is demonstrating this at SID – it should be a compelling gaming display. If Samsung is the supplier, I expect to see a demo next week, but if it is JOLED, then probably not as the firm is not listed as an exhibitor. (BR)
