Chromebook Pixel 2 Revealed in Bug Report

A big report in the Chromium project issue tracker reveals that Google is developing a second-generation Chromebook Pixel (Display Monitor Vol 20 No 8). The original Pixel had a 12.8″ display and 2560 x 1700 resolution

OMG Chrome was first to spot the bug report, which is associated with the unreleased Samus project (the original pixel was code-named Link; another Nintendo game character – TA). An image of what appeared to be the original Pixel was attached to the report, which related to a DisplayPort USB-C adapter on the new device.

Rumoured specifications for the Pixel 2 include a Core M Y-series processor, touchscreen display, interactive lightbar and USB-C 3.1 ports, which transfer speeds up to 10 Gbps.

A hybrid Chromebook, built by Quanta, is apparently also under development, say Asian sources.
