Media Solutions has announced the launch of its MediaFirst End-to-End Ultra High Definition solution, a software-based, multi-application media processing and encoding platform to deliver UHD content from camera to consumer. The new solution leverages algorithms for encoding UHD content to be delivered across contribution networks. The solution also offers HDR capabilities as well as a choice of private, public or hybrid cloud deployment. Here’s what it incorporates:
- AVP System Encoder provides a modular architecture that allows on-site upgrades. Powered by the company’s in-house programmable video chip, AVP encoders deliver MPEG-2 and MPEG-4 AVC and HEVC compression.
- MediaFirst Content Processing delivers a UHD TV decoder with a high bitrate, low latency HEVC decoding and HDR standards.
- MediaFirst Video Processing packaging and encoding for on-demand and live enables the distribution, personalisation and monetisation of multiscreen UHD and/or HDR video services and supporting tone-mapping conversion required for SDR displays.
