Envelop for Windows is new software that is intended to bring Windows apps to VR headsets and allow software including office productivity applications to be used in a VR environment with HTC Vive and Oculus Rift headsets. EnvelopVR has released a public beta and the company plans an SDK to allow app developers to optimise for these environements.
Applications that the company is promoting include VR development, where software coding can be done without having to keep putting on and taking off headsets, as well as 3D data visualisation and design. The firm also highlighted that the use of virtual displays means, effectively, infinite display resolution.
