The dance card for SID Display week is quickly filling up. As the next contender, eMagin is announcing a new full color AMOLED display with a resolution of 2,000 x 2,000 pixel and peak brightness of 5,000 nits. The directly patterned display also features a new backplane that delivers high peak luminance, wide dynamic range, and high frame rates.
As can be expected, one of the main applications for this kind of display is the VR / AR field. eMagin believes that this new display is capable of fulfilling the challenging requirements for AR applications. Not only will Dr. Amal Ghosh, Senior Vice President, R&D give a presentation, but eMagin will also show the device on their booth. (NH)
