What They Say
Eizo released a new 21.3″ 3 megapixel (1536 x 2048) RX370 monitor for medical applications with an integrated calibration sensor and Dicom Part 14 compliance. Brightness is quoted at 1,100 cd/m² with recommended calibration brightness of 500 cd/m². Contrast is 1800:1. It supports 10 bit colour via the DisplayPort interfaces and DVI-D (dual link) is also supported. The DisplayPort interfaces support daisy-chaining.
A feature of the monitor is a new “Instant Backlight Booster” function which temporarily maxes the brightness of the monitor to approximately 1100 cd/m2 for making detailed medical images easier to see in an instant. The brightness automatically returns to its original setting after a short period so the user can continue to use it under typical viewing conditions.
Eizo also said it is its first product to use moulded pulp in its packaging, rather than styrofoam or plastic. It will be available in June.
What We Think
The change to moulded is after more than 30 years of using plastics, so represents quite a change. (BR)
