E Ink Used in San Diego

An art installation at the San Diego International Airport features 2,000 solar powered E Ink tiles showing animations designed by 15 artists. The artworks are designed specifically for the building and use the concept of ‘razzle dazzle’ camouflage which breaks up visual lines.

Each tile of E Ink material has a parallelogram shape and includes a solar cell, drive electronics and wireless connectivity for remote control.
