What They Say
DZOMark looked at the iPhone 14 Pro Max and Huawei Mate 50 Pro, covering displays, cameras, audio and batteries on the Apple device. It said that the iPhone
- Has the overall top score of 149 in its metrics with a first for ‘Readability’, although other aspects are all below other handsets. Colour was down on the Sony Xperia 5 IV.
- Has impressive luminance with >2000 nits measured and 1090 nits for indoor HDR.
- Some colour casts of green off-axis which affects skin tone rendering
- Touch lacks smoothness when gaming
- Some imprecise lighting transitions while watching video content
Overall, when ranked for cameras the iPhone is fourth, behind the Huawei, the Google Pixel 7 Pro and the Honor Magic4 Ultimate.
For the Huawei, the site only covered the camera, which it rates as the current best in the market.
What We Think
There is a fair amount of detail in the review which is worth a look if smartphones are your topic. In terms of displays, Apple takes four of the top five spots, with just the Google Pixel 7 Pro in third place. (BR)
