The UK’s Advertising Association/Warc issued figures on advertising spend and said that overall, spending rose 5.2% in the first half of the year to £9.999 billion ($12.2 billion). Internet advertising was just under half of this.
Out of home advertising was ahead of forecast at £273 million ($333m) in Q2, up 9.6% year on year, with digital taking a third of all out of home and reaching £176 million ($215m) for the half year.
Jason Cotterrell, UK MD at Exterion Media told The Daily Dooh “The stand-out growth figures for out-of-home, outperforming forecasts and on a path of continued growth into next year, are reflective of the transformational change we are witnessing within the sector. The industry’s ongoing investment in new digital and data-driven solutions is absolutely redefining the effectiveness of out-of-home campaigns – from how they are planned, through to execution across both digital and classic assets, and how they are measured”.
