What They Say
FlatpanelsHD has pointed out that Disney+ 4K has stopped working in UltraHD and is only available in HD or SD on some Android TVs. Devices affected include Philips Android TVVs, Sony Android TVs, Chromecast (Google TV), Nvidia Shield, and Hisense Android TVs.
The issue is reported to be related to DRM issues. Problems with Netflix seem to have been solved, but Disney+ remains affected.
What We Think
I must admit, I wouldn’t want to try to navigate the issues of DRMs within TV platforms, globally. There must be many opportunities to get it wrong. (BR)
