Applemust reports that Delta Airlines is supplying 19,000 iPhone 12s to flight attendants to help find stored inventory using AR technology. The firm will also use the smartphones for developing training including photos, videos and ARs.
Delta will be working with AT&T and Apple to develop new use cases and AT&T said it is working with De;ta to create new 5G-enabled applications.
The blog reports that 48 of the top 50 global airlines use iPads in the cockpit to replace electronic flight bags (EFB), while over 70% are using Apple devices for cabin crew, and many also use them for ground and maintenance crews. In 2020 Apple reached a deal with American Airlines so passengers can watch Apple TV+ shows in flight.
