Dell has a new 30″ (29.7″) monitor, the U3023E with a 16:10 aspect ratio and 2560 x 1600 resolution (0.25mm pitch). The IPS-based unit has 100% sRGB and 95% of DCI-P3 with luminance of 400 cd/m², contrast of 1,000:1 and 5ms response time.
Features include dual DisplayPort (including a pass-through) and a USB hub with a KVM switch and four USB Type-A ports and two USB Type-C ports with charging of 15W and 90W.
List pricing in the US is $1050, although, as often with Dell, it is already on promotion – it was at £582 + VAT ($786) today in the UK.
What We Think
I nearly missed this model as just a ‘me too’, but I don’t remember seeing this specification of monitor panel before, although I don’t track monitor types as assiduously as I did for two decades. This looks like a nice specification for a corporate desktop. 16:10 aspect ratio is useful for a lot of applications and 1600 lines of vertical resolution can make documents easier to read. (BR)
