There have already been plenty of reviews, but now TFT Central ($$) has joined those that have had a close look at the Dell Alienware AW3423DW QD-OLED gaming monitor. In general the site found specifications in line with the Dell published numbers. The reviewer didn’t find the delta pixel configuration an issue and described it as ‘hard to see’.
The tests included comparisons of an LG42C2 at 120Hz vs the Alienware at 175Hz and the extra clarity is clear, although there is no BFI feature to overcome smear from the ‘sample and hold’ addressing.
In conclusion, the blog said that this model is “the best PC gaming monitor available right now!”
What We Think
In the last day or so, I’ve seen news that MSI Is also launching a monitor based on the QD-OLED panel that Dell uses. No pricing or availability has been announced. It looks as though there may have been some kind of exclusivity period for Dell as the Samsung Odyssey G8QNB monitor is not available or detailed with pricing, yet. (BR)
