What They Say
Dell has two new monitors, the G3223Q and the G3223D. Both are 32″ diagonal, but key features are:
- G3223Q – UltraHD (IPS from AUO) with DisplayHDR 600 and 144Hz refresh (120Hz console mode via HDMI 2.1) AMD Freesync Premium Pro. $1,100
- G3223D – QHD 2560 x 1440 (IPS) DisplayHDR 400 and 165Hz refresh (120Hz console mode via HDMI 2.1) AMD Freesync Premium Pro & G-Sync. USB Type C with 15W of PD $719
What We Think
15W of Power Delivery looks low these days. That was the level of earlier devices, but recently 90W has become fairly standard for USB Type-C monitors. It’s surprising for a monitor that is not the cheapest in the segment. In the UK, you can buy an AOC 32″ QHD 165Hz IPS monitor or a BenQ VA version for less than half the apparent US price of the Dell. On the other hand, a look at the Dell UK website shows that even for pre-delivery it is selling at a 20% discount so is much closer at £410. (BR)
