Nvidia has signed a deal with Continental, a Tier One automotive supplier, under which Continental will use the Nvidia Drive platform to develop its autonomous car platform. The companies aim to develop systems that can support levels up to full autonomy level 5 driving. The plan is to use Continental’s experience in system and software engineering for ASIL-D rated safety — the highest rating level — and integrate a range of Continental sensor technologies, including radar, camera and high-resolution 3D lidar.
