Sources in the panel maker supply chain have said that Chinese makers are to raise their 43″ TV panel production. This size is currently dominated by AUO and LG Display; however, it is reported that BOE, CSOT and Samsung Display are aiming to compete. BOE will ramp production at its new G8.5 fab (also cutting 18.5″ units), while CSOT will produce 21.5″ and 43″ panels at a G8.5 facility.
