Clevo Predicts Its Notebook Shipments will Top 1.5 Million in 2018

The president of Clevo’s notebook business, Yi-Lung Chien, has gone on record to say that the company expects its notebook shipments to reach 1.52 million units in 2018, up from 1.27 million in 2017, according to Digitimes.

Clevo’s P950HR gaming laptop features a UHD display and an Nvidia GeForce GTX 1070 graphics card. It supports up to four displays simultaneously, via one HDMI and two mini DisplayPort inputs.

The article highlights that Clevo shipped 360,000 units during the first quarter of 2018, a year-on-year growth of 13%. Shipments also increased 14% year-on-year in 2017.

Chien also commented on the industry’s recent component shortage, which has sent prices skywards, revealing that the company has been negotiating with clients since the beginning of 2018 to share some of the increased costs. He attributed the drought to an increased demand from the automotive electronics industry.
