Clevertouch Doing Well Outside the UK

The Clevertouch brand from UK distributor, Sahara Systems, has been very successful over the years in Europe and has increasingly been improving its business in a range of countries outside the UK and including the US, which has now started to really adopt interactive displays in a big way.

The company has revisions of its interactive LCD range that will have improved infrared touch (a frequent comment from companies at the show) that can differentiate between very thin and thick styluses. The thin and thick ends of the stylus can be used for different purposes, or can be used to identify different users according to the configuration. The new displays will also support NFC to allow quick logging in via a smartphone and storage of individual profiles on the displays. The systems will also be the first to support Android 7.0, as the company, along with others, has been at Android 5.0

The new systems will be in sizes from 65″ to 80″ and will support UltraHD resolution – FullHD will not be available.

As well as the infrared displays, the company was showing a 65″ system with PCap touch. This is really being aimed at corporate applications, such as board rooms as the pricing is not appealing for the education market. The company is looking at extending to other sizes, but as education is the firm’s main target market, it may take some time.
