The United States Department of Commerce (USDOC) recently granted CES Asia™with the Department’s “Official Trade Fair” Certification. Owned and produced by the Consumer Technology Association (CTA)™ and co-produced by Intex Shanghai, CES Asia 2016 will run May 11-13 in Shanghai, China at the Shanghai New International Exhibition Centre (SNIEC).

CTA also announced the USDOC will host a breakfast session at CES Asia 2016 to provide counsel to U.S. companies looking to conduct business in China as this certification aims to help strengthen trade between both countries.

The Trade Show Certification program is a cooperative partnership arrangement between private sector show organizers and the U.S. government to increase U.S. exports and to expand U.S. participation in overseas trade shows. Specifically, the program provides Department of Commerce endorsement, show-related services, oversight and coordination of event services, promotional support and exhibitor marketing facilitation.

“This certification represents a great milestone in CES Asia’s short history,” said Gary Shapiro, president and CEO, Consumer Technology Association. “The USDOC has been a longstanding partner of ours. The Department’s extended support of our initiative to showcase the full breadth and depth of innovation in the Asian marketplace, through CES Asia, is a true testament to both the need for and value of a professional, quality tradeshow in Asia.”

“We are pleased to certify The Consumer Technology Association’s CES Asia Show this year. We expect it to be an excellent venue for U.S. exporters to showcase their innovative, cutting-edge products and services,” said Marcus Jadotte, United States Assistant Secretary of Commerce for Industry and Analysis. “The mission of the International Trade Administration is to promote U.S. exports and CTA’s latest undertaking in the Asian marketplace, CES Asia, will provide additional opportunity for U.S. business growth and development in the rapidly expanding Asian marketplace.”

CES Asia 2016 offers many exhibiting opportunities for U.S. companies, ranging from traditional exhibit space, to brand building, to non-traditional showcases, including the show’s new Startup Park, a curated exhibit area showcasing the latest developments from innovative startups. Modeled after the Eureka Park™ Marketplace at CES®, the global stage for innovation – also produced by CTA – this new exhibit area provides entrepreneurs an opportunity for brand exposure and partner development in the rapidly growing Asian marketplace.

CES Asia 2016 will span 20,000 net square meters of exhibit space and feature more than 300 exhibiting companies debuting tech innovation across 15 product categories. Visit www.CESAsia.com for more information and to register for CES Asia 2016.
