Kent Displays, The Maker of Boogie Board eWriters, To Host First Smart Materials and eWriting Symposium

Kent Displays Inc., the maker of Boogie Board eWriters, in partnership with TeamNEO and FlexTech, a SEMI Strategic Association Partner, will be holding the industry’s first Smart Materials & eWriting Symposium from April 12 -14, 2016 at the Kent State University Hotel & Conference Center, in Kent, Ohio.

“Northeast Ohio is internationally recognized for innovation in both smart materials and eWriting,” explains Dr. Albert M. Green, CEO of Kent Displays Inc., the maker of Boogie Board eWriters. “We are proud to support this gathering of experts from academia and industry to share insights and build alliances to expand our regional, national and global leadership in commercialization of flexible electronics.”

Smart Materials workshop features market and technology reviews from those incorporating smart materials and will cover many industrial sectors, including automotive, consumer goods, medical, aircraft, fabrics, medical devices, semiconductors, and robotics. The agenda includes subject matter experts from Brewer Science, DuPont, Kimberly Clark, Parker Hannifin, and AFRL, among others. Lawrence Gasman with n-Tech Research will present its latest findings on market size and application drivers.

The Future of eWriting workshop features market impacts and technology direction for digitized handwriting in terms of both hardware and software. Invited speakers include subject matter experts from Kent Displays, E Ink Technologies, Kent State University, Labarchives, Handwriting the Works, Case Western Reserve University, and the Universal Stylus Initiative. The opening talk on new markets and applications will be given by Rick Seger, who has led several stylus companies.
