What They Say

Optics.org reports that scientists at CEA-LETI in Grenoble (it seems to be LETI week – probably related to a virtual open day it recently held) have developed a 6 x 6mm surface with a printed pixellated hologram. The idea is to create a coherent image on the back of the retina by illuminating the hologram with a laser. At the moment the technique creates only static images, but there is an aim to develop illumination systems that can active or deactivate pixels to allow dynamic imaging.

What We Think

I missed my annual pilgrimage to LETI in Grenoble. The city is very close to some great cycling terrain! (BR)
