Finnish company Canatu has won €22 million ($24.8 million) in funding for R&D into its transparent conductive films and touch sensors, €10 being investments and the remaining €12 million a loan. The films are flexible and 3D formable and the funding will also increase production capacity. The firm hopes to widen its customer base to include CE brands and automotive companies.
Analyst Comment
This is a big win for the company, which has been developing its technology which is based on Carbon nanobuds. The flexibility of the sensors is very good and this funding will help the firm to boost its capabilities in the tough market for ITO replacements. (BR)
