We reported briefly on the improvement in bit depth that the maker of LED video processors, Brompton, has achieved in its latest firmware. (Brompton Boosts Low Grey Level Accuracy) Now the firm has published an interesting blog post that gives a bit more detail and also shows how reducing the noise by using an extended bit depth can allow the use of higher ISO ratings in the cameras used for virtual production without noise problems.
