Free, a French company that has developed an UltraHD Android STB, is powering the box with a Broadcom chip. The Freebox uses a BCM7252 SoC and can show streamed, terrestrial, VoD and recorded content. It is claimed to be the first to support 4Kp60 10-bit HEVC content. Broadcom’s BCM43570 is also used to Bluetooth remote control and 2×2 802.11ac Wi-Fi connectivity.
