BOE Formalises JV Plan

The ET News in Korea reports that the deal between BOE, Kopin and Olightek Opto-Electronic Technology to build a production line to be dedicated to OLED-based microdisplays has been approved by the board of BOE. BOE will have 67% of the new joint venture, Olightek with 20% and Kopin having 3.5% and the companies will invest in that ratio a total of $172m. BOE may take the last shares. The capacity is reported to be one million displays per year in 0.41″, 0.5″ and 0.8″ with resolutions from 800 x 480 to 1920 x 1200. (IC03 Kopin Has a Real Business in AR/VR)
