German-based electronics brand, Blaupunkt, has announced a substantial investment of Rs 100 crore ($12 million) into its Indian operations over the next three years. This effort aims to capture a 10% market share in the premium affordable TV segment in India, bolstering its position in the country’s competitive consumer electronics market.
The funding will drive several key areas of the business, including the introduction of new products, the establishment of a manufacturing plant, enhancement of sound technology, marketing initiatives, and an ambitious expansion plan.
As part of its new product lineup, Blaupunkt is launching five Dolby-enabled Android TVs on June 5th. These new models offer a range of features and sizes to suit different consumer needs and preferences.
In collaboration with Super Plastronics Pvt Ltd (SPPL), Blaupunkt will operate a new manufacturing facility in Tilakwa, Hapur. This factory, anticipated to be fully operational within six months, is expected to produce 2 million units.
