Digitimes reported that BenQ Materials has started shipping polarisers for flexible OLEDs in smartphones and is hoping to have them used for OLED TV panels. The blog also said that the drop in demand for LCDs has meant an easing of supply chain issues for polarisers. Overall, the firm expects the market for polarisers to be stable on an area basis as TV sizes continue to grow. The company wants to reduce the share of its business that comes from displays from 80% to 60% in 2023 by expanding its manufacture of materials for medical applications.

BenQ was promoting its wide viewing angle film as well as its polarisers when we last met with them at Touch Taiwan. (BR)
