What They Say
BenQ’s x1300i LED projector, aimed at gamers, is about to start shipping in Europe. The projector is a fullHD DLP unit with 3000 Ansi lumens of output and dynamic contrast. It has a 1.3-1.56 throw 1.2X zoom lens (100″ @2.87m) with offset and keystone adjustments. Colour coverage is 98% of Rec. 709 and there is support for HDR10 and HLG. Input lag is said to be (when processing is switched off) 8.33ms for 120Hz operation using HDMI 2.0b. There are dual 5W speakers.
The engine uses four LED sources, with an additional blue channel that is said to boost brightness by 12%. A report in the French press suggested that the unit uses the larger 0.65″ FullHD DLP650NE chip
Features include support for Android TV, but the projector does not support shifting for UltraHD support. It can scale UltraHD content down to 1080P.
The projector is selling in the UK for £1,189 ($1,345 + tax).
What We Think
This looks like a good specification for home use, especially if the colour performance is as good as it could be using LED sources. I shall keep an eye open for reviews of this projector. I couldn’t see any at the time of writing. (BR)
