BenQ Clear in B2B Push

Benq double sided DH550CNext, we looked at a new “dual-sided” display, the DH550C, which has a very simple and elegant industrial design. The panels are 55″ and the brightness is 700 cd/m² on each side. Thickness is less than 25mm in the display portion (excluding the base) and the unit can be mounted on wheels for flexible placement in retail environments. BenQ told us that it has had a lot of interest in the display from high end retailers.

BenQ also has video wall solutions (there was a good demonstration 8 x 3 video wall using the PH460) and the first monitor we looked at was the PL550 which can be used in walls of up to 15 x 15, the company said. Brightness is 500 cd/m² and bezel to bezel width is just 3.5mm. The monitor has DisplayPort and can be colour calibrated to get better matching across the wall.

The PH460 is a 46″ unit with 700 cd/m² of brightness and 5.4mm bezel to bezel gaps. The same features are shared with the PL550, although it is only rated to be used in walls up to 10 x 10.

There was a touch screen 46″ that had been built into a totem by a 3rd party company.

Inside the company’s booth, there was a new interactive 79″ display, the RP790 which will support UltraHD resolution and will include a full Android system. It’s expected to arrive around May and will cost around €4,000. It will have an OPS slot. Connectivity is extensive, with five HDMI ports, a VGA port (for daisy-chaining) and two USB connections. It is also anti-glare.
