BenQ Adds HDR Support to 27″

BenQ has a new 27″ monitor. the EW227HDR, that offers just FullHD resolution but has 400 cd/m² in HDR mode to improve performance in HDR applications and supports 3,000:1 contrast on its VA panel. Colour support is 93% of DCI-P3 and 100% of Rec.709. Response time is 12ms (4ms G2G) and there are dual HDMI and a VGA port, but there are no speakers.

Features include what BenQ calls its Brightness Intelligence Plus technology that is said to “balance maximum contrast, vibrancy, and realism with comfortable viewing”. The technology uses an ambient sensor to optimise colour temperature and brightness according to ambient light conditions. Pricing in Europe is €275 including tax ($270 + tax)
