OAAA Beats Scenic America in 4-Year Digital Billboard Case

A four-year legal battle between anti-billboard group Scenic America and the Outdoor Advertising Association of America (OAAA) has come to an end. A US District Court judge originally dismissed the case without prejudice back in 2014, and now the US Supreme Court has denied Scenic America’s appeal against the decision.

This means that the estimated 7,300 digital billboards currently in use in the United States can remain operational. Digital billboards are used to raise public awareness of incidents, such as missing children or escaped fugitives, and to deliver emergency information like weather warnings, as well as for advertising purposes.
