Junji Adachi is CEO of Kyulux which is developing TADF-like materials with hyperfluoresence. The company is based in Fukuoka in Japan and also has an operation in Boston. The company is planning to show materials in demonstrations at SID during Display Week.
Adachi said that the problem of TADF is that the spectrum of emissions is quite wide, while Hyperfluorescence has a tighter FWHM, to match the performance of fluorescent materials. TADF us around 89nm, while the Kyulux material is around 32nm for bottom emission and 22nm for top emission.
Kyulux has developed a blue, which is a stable sky blue emitter. The materials are said to be very suitable for top emission and results of a device that the company has made were shown at the event.
The company has a licensed AI system for computational screening of materials. Turning to commercialisation, the company has achieved good FWHM, lifetimes and efficiency and is ready for commercialisation in yellow and green.
