AUO is to sign an agreement with Apple to supply panels for the iPhone, according to TechNews. Supply chain sources are quoted, saying that Apple is seeking additional suppliers to secure panel shipments. AUO is expected to supply 4″ panels, but is also preparing 4.7″ and 5.5″ LTPS in-cell units. Separately, Apple Daily and UDN claim that AUO will not enter Apple’s supply chain before the launch of new iPhones in 2016.
