Asus has a new eSports LCD, the ROG Strix XG258Q, which uses a 24.5″ TN panel from AU Optronics that has FullHD resolution and that supports a 240Hz refresh rate and a 1ms GtG response time. Brightness is 400 cd/m² and contrast is 1,000:1. The monitor supports AMD FreeSync for variable refresh over a range from 48Hz to 240Hz. Features include support for Asus’ Extreme Low Motion Blur and its Aura RGB lighting as well as two logo covers and a blank cover to allow ‘led light projection’ onto a the mounting surface. There is also support for a crosshair overlay and other features from the Asus GamePlus hotkey.
Inputs are DisplayPort 1.2 or HDMI 2.0 and there is support for 100mm of height adjustment and 90º pivot. The monitor costs $449 and is available in the US now.
