Asus’ new Republic of Gamers monitor, the MX27AQ, is a 27″ model with a focus on design and audio quality. It is built using brushed metal and has dual 3W speakers using Bang & Olufsen’s Icepower technology. Asus’ own Audiowizard feature is built into the monitor itself, with four pre-set modes accessed through the OSD.
To care for eyes as well as ears, the MX27AQ has low blue light and flicker-free features. It uses an IPS panel, covering 100% sRGB and edge-to-edge glass with a 1mm outer bezel.
Resolution is 2560 x 1440. The IPS panel provides 178° viewing angles and a 5ms response time. The monitor has 300 cd/m² of brightness and -5° to 20° tilt. It also features DisplayPort, MHL-HDMI and HDMI (x2) ports.
Asus will begin selling its new display worldwide in March. Pricing will start at $500.
