Applied Materials said that it has a new high-resolution incline e-beam review (EBR) system that can increase the speed at which makers of OLED and UHD LCDs can find and solve defect issues to get better yields. The new system combines a scanning electron microscope with high speed online review techniques. The company said that six of the top ten display makers have ordered the system and had quotes from Tianma that supported the technology and had used it to accelerate ramp-up at the firm’s Wahun fab in China.
