Apple To Fix iPhone 6 Plus ‘Touch disease’ for $149

Apple

Apple has decided to offer a service to fix a fault, known as “touch disease” on the iPhone 6 Plus. The service is a standard fee for otherwise working units (with non-cracked and working screens) and costs $149 in the US (£146.44 in the UK). The programme will stay in place for five years from the launch of the phone. The company is offering refunds to customers who have previously paid more than this.

The fault shows as flickering or bad response to touch after the phone has been drop or subjected to other defects.

iFixit had identified a common problem with this fault in August.
