Normally, we wouldn’t bother with a rumour about Apple – there are so many, but in this case, the source is the Wall St Journal. The paper said that Apple is planning to create its own content (TV series, but possibly movies) that it can make available through the Apple Music service. It already has other video content on the service, including ‘Carpool Karaoke’.
Analyst Comment
It doesn’t seem a stupid idea for Apple to get into content. It has been working on the Apple TV box. Having its own content would potentially make an Apple TV pay platform more attractive to users.
