Bloomberg has reported that Apple is pushing Pegatron to assemble iPhone 14 models in India as it seeks to diversify away from production in China. Foxconn already assembles some units of the iPhone 14 in India. (Apple confirms manufacturing iPhone 14 in India)
The news provider also said that Apple has reduced its plans from 90 million units of iPhone 14 this year to 87 million. The demand is said to be softer for the 1Phone 14 and the Plus model and SMBC Nikko analysts redyced their overall forecast for Apple’s 2022 output to 85 million new iPhones from 91 million units, with a shift from standard models to the Pro models.
