Reports in the WSJ suggest that Apple has been testing more than ten different prototypes for its next smartphone and that at least one of these has a curved OLED, like the Samsung Galaxy S7 Edge. There are also reports that Apple has asked for a higher resolution display than the Samsung version. Previous reports by Nikkei suggest that the next versions will have glass covers on the front and back and that while one of the versions of the next phone that it will launch will have an OLED, there will be other versions that use LTPS LCDs.
