Apple cranking up iPhone 14 Pro production to address higher demand

What They Say

Analyst Ming-Chi Kuo has reported on Twitter that based on conversations with the supply chain, he believes that Apple has asked Foxconn to boost the production of the iPhone 14 Pro models  by around 10% while easing back on the basic model. He points to limited availability of Pro models from Apple, while iPhone 14 stock seems ample.

Last week, analyst Ming-Chi Kuo said the iPhone 14 Pro Max dominated the first weekend of pre-orders, while the iPhone 14 Plus was a disappointment.

Ross Young tweeted that based on panel orders and product mix, iPhones are tracking 6% higher than last year with a 4% higher ASP assuming the same memory configurations which are likely higher this year due to 48MP camera, etc.

What We Think

This reinforces the idea, said to be in Apple’s thinking, that the premium segments of the market will be more resilient in these difficult times than the mainstream and entry levels.  (BR)
