AOC has built Freesync into two new monitors – the company’s first with AMD’s anti-tearing technology. As long as gamers are using a compatible AMD GPU with the 24″ G2460PF or 27″ G2770PF, they will experience games without tearing or stutter, says the company.
AOC’s ‘i-Care’ technology is an ambient brightness sensor and adjustment, and is combined with a flicker-free backlight to enable comfortable viewing. The monitors also feature an ergonomic stand, to help posture. The stand enables the monitors to tilt and pivot (90°), and is height adjustable to 130mm.
To support gaming use, the monitors have 144Hz refresh rates and 1ms response times. They share all specifications aside from size and brightness (350 cd/m² on the 24″, 300 cd/m² on the 27″). Both have 1920 x 1080 resolution; a 1,000:1 contrast ratio; and 178°/170° viewing angles.
DisplayPort, HDMI, DVI, VGA and USB 2.0 (x2) ports are featured.
AOC’s new monitors will be launched in September, for £190 ($300) (G2460PF) and £235 ($370) (G2770PF), ex VAT.
