AOC has a new 15.6″ FullHD monitor, the I1601FWUX, using an IPS panel that runs via USB Type-C with the DisplayPort Alt mode and power to allow single cable connectivity to notebook PCs. With thickness of 8.5mm, the monitor weighs just 800 gms, although it has a die cast metal back cover, and produces 220 cd/m². Response time is 5ms (GtG) and viewing angles are given at 160º. Features include an auto-pivot feature for landscape and potrait operation. There’s a video here.
Pricing is £199 in the UK ($232 plus tax).
Analyst Comment
This product seems to have been under development a long time – we found references to it from early in 2017 with an original planned date a year ago. The final specification is brighter. It already is being sold in the US – we saw $205 at Best Buy. (BR)
