AOC/MMD Busy in Gaming Monitors

What They Say

TPV’s monitor business has been pushing out more gaming monitors using its Philips and AOC brands.

  • The Philips Momentum 276M1RPE is a 27″ QuadHD nanoIPS panel with 240Hz refresh and DisplayHDR 600 certification. Chromaticity coverage is 132% of sRGB, 98% DCI-P3 and a Delta-E value of less than 2. It has four sided ‘Ambiglow’
  • The AOC Agon Pro AG274QXM is a miniLED-based QuadHD 27″ unit with DisplayHDR 1000 certification and 576 zones. Refresh is up to 170Hz with Premium Pro certification (48 – 170Hz range). Features include AOC LightFX RGB lighting and logo projection. TFTCentral reviewed the monitor here and found good coverage of DCI-P3 (98%) and AdobeRGB (97%). sRGB coverage was 145.3%. The site pointed out in its review that in sRGB mode the brightness is locked. There is a KVM switch and 65W of charging available from a very large power supply. Peak brightness in HDR was measured at 1,262 cd/m².
  • The 34″ AG344UXM is a 3440 x 1440 21:9 monitor with 179Hz and DisplayHDR 1000 based on 1152 LED zones. Max refresh of the IPS panel is 170Hz. There is 90W of charging available and there is an integrated KVM.
  • The AG274QS has a 27″ WQHD monitor with 300Hz refresh and FreeSync Premium. Certification was uncertain when Prad spotted the unit, with Chinese product pages reporting DisplayHDR 600 while an English language specification says DisplayHDR 400.

What We Think

There seem to be a lot of monitors appearing at the moment. I was surprised to see 300Hz at WQHD on the AG274QS. How long before we get UltraHD monitors at that level? (BR)
