Antycip Simulation, the virtual reality and 3D specialist claimed to be “the European leader for simulation software”, recently completed an innovative VR project at automotive supplier Hutchinson’s Innovation & Research Center.
Hutchinson delivered a brief to Antycip for a high-tech prototyping facility. The firm installed two CAVEs (Cave Automatic Virtual Environment) equipped with displays, projectors and infrared tracking cameras, where Hutchinson staff can use a handheld input device and 3D glasses to examine and manipulate 3D objects in a virtual environment.
Antycip selected four of Christie’s 3-Chip DLP Mirage WU12K-M projectors with a resolution of 1920 x 1200 pixels at 120Hz for the first room. The second room features a Christie Mirage 4K25 120Hz projector operating in 2160p and a 4 x 2 metre multi-touch, interactive Ultra HD video wall.
Content management in the first room is handled with HP Z Series computers, loaded with CAO-DAO 3D software, with the UHD video wall being controlled by a separate system using an Nvidia Quadro P6000 3D graphics card.
